And so true in the United States of A - where every Asshole tries to sell you shit over the phone. Excuse my non-Oxford english, but they drive me crazy…

Flock Rocks!

Originally uploaded by Kirako

What a refreshing experience!

Yesterday I received the latest issue of Macworld and flipped through it. I stumbled across a review of 10 Web browsers for Mac OS X and once particularly interesting one is named Flock. So far so good. When I arrived at work this morning I found out that Flock is also available for Windows (which is cool, since even the Marketing Pros don’t get Macs)…

So, I’m currently trying it out and it is the best damn piece of software I’ve seen in a very long time. I’m not gonna read you the feature list here, since I’m not Andy Ihnatko.

Just go and try it for yourself: www.flock.com

eBay: (Versuchter) Betrug

Friday, 01. February 2008 by traak

Gerade nochmal gut gegangen…

“Push Gift”

Sunday, 27. January 2008 by traak

This makes me fucking sick! I kid you not, I’m about to throw up :)

It seems to be common practice (read: expected, well, at least by Americans) to give a gift to the women who has just born your baby (or pushed it out, for that matter). “Here are some diamond earrings, honey. Thank you for enduring this horrible thing, called pregnancy”. I just heard about this today and I’m still struggling to believe it…

An Inconvenient Truth

Monday, 18. June 2007 by traak

As usual, I might be somewhat behind the masses here, but last night I eventually managed to watch Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth”. Very honestly, I never really gave a rat’s ass about global warming. Kind of “By the time the consequences will hit us, me and my children will be long gone”.

Well, let me tell you this: This is not true. Firstly, consequences are already happening today and in the next decades (while I will hopefully still be around) it will only get worse.

An Inconvinient Truth

This won’t be a lecture on the topic. Just wanted to say, that I really started thinking about it. Do yourself a favor, visit www.climatecrisis.net, check Wikipedia and watch the movie and find your own opinion on the topic.

Cheers.

Merry Xmas

Or is it too early? Does it matter? Hmmm… Actually not really. This is just one of those days… If you all behave nicely, I might post some more pics for you when it actually is Christmas.

Basic rules for driving in Gauteng

Tuesday, 01. November 2005 by traak
  • Turn signals will give away your next move. A real Gauteng driver never uses them.
  • Under no circumstance should you leave a safe distance between you and the car in front of you, or the space will be filled by two Golfs, a BMW and an Uno, putting you in an even more dangerous situation.
  • The faster you drive through a red light, the smaller the chance you have of getting hit.
Never, ever come to a complete stop at a stop sign. No one expects it and it will only result in you being rear-ended.
  • Braking is to be done as hard and late as possible to ensure that your ABS kicks in, giving you a nice, relaxing foot massage as the brake pedal pulsates. For those of you without ABS, it’s a chance to stretch your legs.
  • Never pass on the right when you can pass on the left. It’s a good way to check if the people entering the highway are awake.
  • Speed limits are arbitrary figures, given only as a guideline. They are especially not applicable in Gauteng during rush hour. That’s why it’s called ‘rush hour…’.
  • Just because you’re in the right lane and have no room to speed up or move over doesn’t mean that a Gauteng driver flashing his high beams behind you doesn’t think he can go faster in your spot.
Always slow down and rubberneck when you see an accident or even someone changing a tire. Never stop to help - you will be mugged.
  • Learn to swerve abruptly. Gauteng is the home of the high-speed slalom driving thanks to the Metro Police Department, which puts holes in key locations to test drivers’ reflexes and keep them on their toes.
  • It is traditional in Gauteng to honk you horn at cars that don’t move the instant the light turns green. This prevents storks from building nests on top of the traffic light and minahs from making deposits on your car.
  • Remember that the goal of every Gauteng driver is to get there first by whatever means necessary.
In the Gauteng area, “flipping someone the bird” is considered a polite Gauteng salute. This gesture should always be returned.
  • On average, at least three cars can still go through an intersection after the light has turned red. It’s people not adhering to this basic principal that causes the big traffic jams during rush hour.
  • A solid white line is the same as a staggered line in Gauteng. The Metro Police Department just have to save paint to buy new cars for all the new directors.
  • A solid white line next to a staggered line means they have sorted the directors out and the paint contract has been awarded to their wives.

If it wasn’t so sad it would actually be funny…

Custom Road Sign

Tuesday, 25. October 2005 by traak

Well, Jo’burgs CAR FREE day was probably the biggest joke in quite a while. I’m actually wondering whether our creative Minister of Transport really thought that this thing is gonna fly?? Seriously, if I needed to take public transport from home to the office, I didn’t know how…

Come clean

Tuesday, 25. October 2005 by traak

Ok, it’ll be christmas time soon and all you little kids out there want to have nice, big and expensive presents, right? But as all of you are running through this world with rather dirty hands, you’ll have to become clean. Now! Off you go!
